diggermats / bogmats
diggermats / excavator support mat are very easey to use and are
also called bogmats this is because they are usually used to cross
bog. In America they are called swamp mats due to the fact they
are used to cross swamp
These are pictures
of bog mats in use
- As you can see the ground is very rough
- the ground is cut out forest
- the digger being used is a 16 ton jcb
- four mats can be carried to the required place

This is a side veiw
- the rear bogmat is lifted by a wire rope and slewed round
to the front of the digger to create a tempoary roadway
through the deforested ground
|
 |
| bog mat to the front
- the mat is 5m wide and 1.2m wide
- three mats would give you a total footprint of 18metres
square
- 16ton over 18m would give you less than 0.08kg per square
centemetre
- A person weighing 12 stone / 76kg would give a footprint
of 0.15kg per cm so if a 12 stone person stood on one foot
and sank out of site so would the digger on mats
